Soil Pebbles
These works were created as I explored soil-based watercolors being made in small batches by a soil scientist. They allow for experimentation and accidental beauty, and painting with them means being open to different colors behaving as they choose. I think often about art-making in the post apocalypse, and finding materials that come from the environment make me feel as if I am preparing for an inevitable future.
